3 FOR 1 TO APPEAR AT BENEFIT CONCERT
(Press Release)MARION, IL – 16-year old Alex Doughty, sophomore at Marion High School in Marion, IL recently faced death in a terrible accident. Alex had just arrived at home about 4:30 PM May 30th – after working all day with a family friend – when he and his brother, Russell, decided to clear some brush and small trees off the dam of a small pond located on the Doughty’s 20-acre farm south of Marion. Russell, who is 18, took off walking toward the pond. Alex went to get the family’s old John Deere tractor, which was in the barn. Apparently, Alex started the tractor with the transmission in reverse. When he pushed the hand clutch forward, the tractor lurched at the rear. This caused Alex to immediately be slammed into the steering wheel by the impact of the low loft which had been directly behind the tractor. The impact caused Alex to go into shock an he couldn’t pull off the clutch. The tractor – with bush hog mower attached – backed all the way to the rear!
of the barn before it stop. The concert will be July 12 West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin IL. For more info call 618-997-3205
